Toyota Looks Ahead with Three New Electric Vehicles

Toyota has unveiled three new electric vehicles aimed at competing in both the microcar and SUV markets. The first of these, the FT-ME concept, directly competes with Citroën’s Ami quadricycle.

The design includes a compact two-seat configuration and has an overall length of only 2.5 meters, emphasizing its suitability for city driving. It also offers connectivity options that let drivers connect their smartphones to the car, allowing them to initiate the vehicle using their phones.

The FT-ME is constructed from recycled materials, and its battery can be replenished with the help of the rooftop solar panel, providing an additional 12 to 18 miles of range daily under clear skies.

Unfortunately, the FT-ME remains merely a conceptual vehicle with no current intentions for mass production.

The second vehicle is a revised edition of the company’s bZ4x electric SUV.

The interior has been refreshed with a standard 14-inch touch screen, alongside a redesigned center console.

Customers have the option to choose between two battery packs: one with a capacity of 57.7 kWh and another larger one at 73.1 kWh, both compatible with all-wheel drive configurations. According to Toyota, the vehicle boasts an impressive maximum driving range of up to 356 miles before needing a recharge.

The latest software updates introduce an electric vehicle (EV) routing feature. This functionality automatically configures the most suitable route through the car’s navigation system, factoring in optimal charging stops according to the current state of the car’s battery level.

The revised bZ4x will be available for purchase by late summer this year, with additional details on pricing and features to be announced later.

Recently, Toyota unveiled its third electric vehicle: the CH-R+ SUV. This model offers a selection of two different battery options and is available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations.

Additional information about the pricing and features will be disclosed later this year once the vehicle becomes available for purchase.
