"Young Guns 3: Dead or Alive" Set to Film in the Mesilla Valley
SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — It has been nearly four decades since Emilio Estevez first brandished his pistol portraying Billy the Kid in the classic western film "Young Guns." On Thursday, during Film and Media Day at the New Mexico State Capitol, the actor revealed his return to the birthplace of the series to shoot the upcoming chapter in the saga. He will helm "Young Guns 3: Dead or Alive" as both director and lead, reprising his role as the renowned outcast. Joining him once more will be veterans Lou Diamond Phillips and Christian Slater from the previous installments. Estevez stated at a press conference that he has been subjected to jokes suggesting the title might be "Old Guns." The initial "Young Guns" was released in 1988.
