Oilers Prospect Roby Jarventie Set to Leave for Finnish League

According to a report, Edmonton Oilers prospect Roby Jarventie will not stay with the team for much longer. Finnish newspaper Ilta-Sanomat , who announced earlier this week that he will be signing to compete in his homeland.

Under his new agreement, he will be joining Tappara, the club where both of his younger brothers are now teammates. At 19 years old, Emil has divided his playtime between the U-20 squad and the Liiga team, whereas his brother Max, who is 16, has been competing with the U-18 side.

Last summer, the 22-year-old Roby moved to the Oilers from the Ottawa Senators along with a 2025 fourth-round draft pick, trading off some prospects in return. Xavier Bourgault and Jake Chiasson Jarventie was recuperating from a knee injury that stalled a promising season with the AHL’s Belleville Senators, where he netted nine goals and accumulated 20 points in just 22 games. Selected by the Senators in the second round of the 2020 draft, he finds himself in the last year of his three-year entry-level deal.

It took Jarventie some time to break into the AHL games with the Bakersfield Condors this season, but once he made his debut in early November, it was brief. In only two appearances, he managed six shots and secured two assists. Nonetheless, appear great in those matches .

Jarventie began the season as Oilersnation’s third ranked prospect , with Bruce Curlock suggesting he might have been able to play NHL games this season.

Although the Oilers might not appreciate letting go of the promising young player, Bourgault’s game Has only continued to decline since joining Ottawa’s AHL team, managing just six goals and 14 points in 45 contests for Belleville this campaign. Meanwhile, Chiasson has divided his playing time between Ottawa’s AHL and ECHL teams, failing to register any points in 17 AHL matches and contributing one goal and six points in 15 ECHL outings.
