Israeli Air Force Strikes Terrorist Targets in Damascus, Defense Minister Confirms

Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike in Damascus on Thursday as part of an anti-terrorism mission, according to statements from Israel's defense minister.

"Whenever terrorist activities targeting Israel are orchestrated... Abu Mohammed Al Jolani will encounter Israeli Air Force planes soaring overhead and attacking these terror sites," stated Israel Katz, addressing the acting Syrian president Ahmed Al Sharaa using his pseudonym.

According to media outlets in Israel citing Syrian sources, Israeli planes targeted a structure located on the periphery of Syria's capital city.

Katz didn’t specify what was hit during the attack, and the IDF hasn’t provided an immediate statement regarding the operation. Nonetheless, two Syrian security sources informed Reuters that the intended target was a Palestinian individual.

Moreover, a military correspondent from Israel's Army Radio reported that the warplanes struck the Islamic Jihad headquarters in Damascus.
